“From day one I was impressed by the versatility of the chemical sector. With the young graduate program I had the chance to absorb a variety of information from knowledgeable people in order to rapidly learn the organization. I immediately felt part of the team and my opinion counted, right from the start.”
Supply Chain Compliance & Projects Manager
During the Young Grad Program I got the opportunity to work in all departments of the supply chain and get involved in important projects. The company supported me with trainings in various fields and gave me the tools to accelerate my career track. As such, in the past 10 years, I have done 7 different roles with increasing responsibilities – of which some in the United States on an expat assignment.
The Young Graduate Program gave me to opportunity to meet all the different departments of a caring company within the chemical Industry. This knowledge helps me during my everyday activities to better understand and include all the departments feedback from the start of a new project.
During October and November, CPChem launched a creative atelier for its employees in all three Belgian sites to assist in building inter-company relationships with a clear focus on Diversity & Inclusion, which is a fundamental value at CPChem.
CPChem announced plans to expand its polyalphaolefins (PAO) business with the construction of a new unit in Beringen, Belgium. This significant investment will double the company’s PAO production capacity in Belgium (to 120,000MT) upon targeted startup in 2024.
The new HDS unit will help create circularity by turning sulfur, currently a waste stream, into hydrogen sulfide, a feedstock that will be used on-site for the production of mercaptans. It will also reduce SO2 emissions, and produce fuel to be used in a new cogeneration unit which functions to produce steam and electricity for the facility, making our facility more reliable.
People, planet and performance are our top priorities.
